Sometime ago, in Aiga News, I advised that Tigrean must speak collectively.  This unity is a categorical imperative.

There are seasons for everything.  A time for marching, time for disagreeing, a time for dialogue, time for peace, sadly, there is even time for war, considering  the unpeaceful nature of us, human beings, as disappointing as we are.

For all those who have followed my career, first in Deki Alula, then the Ethiopian Reporter, as a weekly columnist for six years, and for a long time in Tigray on line and Aiga Forum, I have been critical of EPRDF and most particularly the later years of Meles Zenawi’s leadership.  My criticism of TPLF was appreciative in the beginning and acidic in later years.  The articles were collected and  published in  my book Ethiopian Discourse ( Africa World Press) amazon.com , if you wish to read them now.

This time, however, we Tigrayans have no choice but to embrace the existing Tigrayan government, as the Ethiopian fascist state is strategizing to annihilate us.

Now is the time to respect the heroism of our Tigrayan mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers, who were raped, burned and thrown into ravines.  We must remember them , and we can do so only, if we speak singularly united  on the behalf of all those who died for Tigray, and who may be burned and raped again. We must stop this, if we maintain the categorical voice of Tigrean unity.

This is the season for Tigrayan Unity.  We must speak with a single voice, liberate our lands, and then at the right time, we will hold Tuple responsible and a critical democratic dialogue will ensue afresh.

Tigrayan analysts in the diaspora must stop squabbling and encourage our heroic fighters on the ground to succeed and defend Tigray, a world class civilization, to uphold its sovereignty.
