As many people are aware of, the people of Tigray are facing multifaceted, genocidal all-out war illegally declared by Abiy, and his collaborators, namely Isayas and other ethno-centric extremist groups. What make things worst is, all these three groups are venomously intoxicated with hate against the people of Tigray. The crimes they committed so far on the people of Tigray are the evidence, showing the cruelty of these unholy allies. Abiy and his cohorts have staunch supporters from some Arab States of the Persian Gulf, Turkey, Iran, China, and the Russia federation.
I excluded African countries because this is a dark continent ruled by jungle laws in which most of the rulers are ruthless dictators who does not have remorse and respect to their own people (readers should understand me that there are few countries in this continent which are exercising democratic institutions). What is sinister is that although some western countries are publicly denouncing the crimes committed by Abiy and his cohorts, it is not far from theatrical diplomacy. What is sad to see is that, in some case behind the curtain either they are approved or simply watching as a spectator the indiscriminate and savagely massacres of innocent and helpless Tigray civilians who does not have any connections with the ongoing war or politics.
Some politically motivated western countries and politicians (I appreciate the recent EU resolution passed by their parliamentarian, but I am not sure how far it will go to bring tangible results) and renowned international financial institutions are supporting Abiy regime in the name of structural adjustment and economic reforms, in which both are nominal and terribly failed! The world communities know very well the mass killing, manmade starvation and destruction of private and public infrastructures in Tigray and on its population by the invaders. The level of commitments seen at the start of the conflict by western countries, including United States of America to solve this war are gradually decreased and this gave an opportunity for Abiy and Isayas to intensify their attack on the people of Tigray. At present, it seems that the western countries give-up the entire responsibilities to solve Tigray war to the infamous, “DO NOTHING” African Union (AU). This indicates that western powers are approved the ongoing genocide in Tigray by the perpetrator, Abiy and Isayas.
Taking the magnitude and the nature of the genocidal war declared by Abiy against the people of Tigray, and the multifaceted intentions of the allied forces involved, it is unclear why the international communities give the trust and responsibility to the African Union (AU) to solve the bloodiest conflict of our time. When and where did African problems solve by Africans? Why AU failed to protect the Rwanda genocide or why they did not bring solution to Somalia and Congo conflicts until now? To me Africa is not only a dark continent where its people are hostages of their own government (in some case worsen than the colonial era), but also most of the governments in power are not only a problem for their own people, but also the problems for the rest of the world as well! Some like Abiy and Isayas are even worse than one can imagine!
Because of this, the problems of African continent have spillover to the rest of the world. Many African despotic and bloodthirsty rulers make the continent a hell for their own citizens, but a heaven for themselves and for their families. Africa is a place where government is above the law, terrorizing their own citizens and public offices are a source of wealth through embezzlement and corruption. Africa is a place where citizens are tortured, killed, starved, denied justice, denied equal access to education, and to health services; denied to live in liberty and freedom by exercising their basic right, to live as a human being? African people are living in constant fear, they do not know what their government will do against them each day. How an organization established by full of despotic, dictatorial regimes can be trusted to bring peace between waring functions in Ethiopia? To me it is better to expect a Dove from snake egg than expecting peace from AU chaired person, Mousa Faki and from his appointee, Obasanjo, who should be reside in Nursing Home at this time.
The AU is not only “a white Elephant in the room,” but also an embarrassment and the burden to the ordinary people of Africa. I said this because, first AU is a collection of “d0-nothing” self-appointees’ corrupt personalities, and second the old person (Obasanjo) has blood on his hand. He is one of the accomplices of the genocide against the Igbo (during the Biafra, 1967 to 1970)) people during Nigeria civil war. The AU is not only supporting the Addis regime but also encouraging Abiy to commit genocide against the people of Tigray, the same way as it has happened in Biafra and Rwanda. To me undermining these facts is the same as giving a certificate to Abiy and Isayas to continue their genocidal war against the people of Tigray.
The African “white collars” diplomats, are the one who blocked multiple times the UN meeting to discuss on Tigray issues. How the AU handled the peace negotiation for the last 2 years under the current chairperson is an indicator to the failure of this organization. The last week insidious but terribly failed attempt made by AU to “mediate” the Abiy and Tigray government not only show to the international communities to what extent this continental organization has decayed, but also exposed badly the impartiality of this organization, chaired by Mousa Faki, and the old guy, Obasanjo, who is enjoying his retirement in Ethiopia at the expenses of poor Ethiopian money! Because of this and the indifference approaches of the world communities to Tigray genocide, I do think peace is still far from reach for the people of Ethiopia and for the region at large.
Why Abiy is not interested to stop the Tigray conflict through peaceful means? To me the answer is clear. It is obvious, that Abiy, Isayas, and their cohorts knows that they are committed genocide on the people of Tigray and other Ethiopians ethnic group in general. Their crimes are not abated until now. They both new, that at the end of the day, they will be prosecuted for the heinous crimes they committed, and their end place will be at the International Criminal Court. To avoid this (according to them), the only option what they have is to win this savage war through human wave, indiscriminate shelling and then rewrite fake and denial history to change the narratives. The question is, are they going to accomplish what they think? The answer is they will not win the war, but what they can do is to commit crimes again and again, by indiscriminate killing of the people of Tigray while the world communities are watching the crimes as a spectator.
These criminals are repeated the history of Nazi Germany genocide against the Jewish, the Rwanda genocide against the Tutsi, the former Yugoslavia (Serbia) against the Croatia and Bosnia Muslim minorities. No one stopped Hitler and Hutu militias from committed genocide against other people. But although it was late, United States and some European countries save further genocide from happening in the former Yugoslavia and managed to safe millions of lives. Why now this kind of legal interference is not happening to save the life of millions of Tigran’s? Is there a logic for the international communities to stay idle, while the despotic ruler of Eritrea (the poorest and the most oppressed country on the earth), Isayas Afewerki, violated the international law, crossing a sovereign country territory to commit genocide on the people of Tigray?
At one time the former UN secretary Kofi Annan said the following “there can be no more binding obligation for the international community than the prevention of genocide” further he said “the events in Rwanda 10 years ago were especially shameful. The international community clearly had the capacity to prevent those events, but failed to summon the will …. We must ensure that we never again fail to summon the will.” According to some conservative estimates, in Tigray alone one year ago, a total of half a million Tigran’s was mercilessly massacred and disappeared by Abiy, Isayas and their cohorts. At this time this number could be jump up to a million. My question is how many Tigran’s should die at the hands of criminals before the international community take measures?
This is wrong assumption. However, this indicate that Abiy and Isayas are considering the entire population of Tigray as their enemy, and imagine the magnitude of human tragedy that could happened if these savage and ardent enemies of the people of Tigray managed to penetrate inside Tigray. They will be wiped out the entire population of Tigray. This is the reason why I affirmed here that in Tigray genocide, the international communities have their share and it seems they blessed it to happen. Understanding this, the people of Tigray, without gender, age, economic, ideology, and education, differences stand up to fight the enemies coming to your doorstep. Instead of dying by starvation, or watching while your sister, mother, wife is raped and killed or tortured in front of you by the beasts, stand up and take whatever is available at your disposal to fight the enemy.
It is only you who save yourself and your land! Support and show to the world that you stand with your heroic TDF, and your political party TPLF. Ignore political or any other divergence that exist at this time and concentrate to the survival war you faced. If you have question on your political party, you will solve it after victory. Because, I believe Tigray and its people will not be the same anymore! The people of Tigray may suffer economically, may killed, tortured, starved, but at the end of the day they will prevail! That is the essence of Tigrawaynet!
Tigray will prevail!
